Hatha Yoga simply refers to the practice of physical yoga postures or asanas. Since we primarily identify ourselves with the physical body, in hatha yoga we start the practice with learning to understand our physics and making it gradually to become a good buddy with a collected and focused “self”. Hatha means a willful or a forceful activity that we systematically adopt in our everyday practice so we can learn the control not only over the physical body but also over the mood changes and our continuous mental processes. It is a path that leads to the practice of Astangha Yoga. |
